Activities resume at St Martin’s URC in West Moors
The community sing-a-long is resuming and the choir are to meet again at St Martin’s United Reformed Church, in addition to a harvest concert.
St Martin’s United Reformed Church, in the centre of West Moors, is restarting its popular community activities. Before the pandemic up to 60 folk would meet twice a month for a morning of fellowship and community singing, which is known to be particularly valuable for those with memory loss, stress and some other medical conditions.
Now the Community sing-a-long is to start again at 10.30am on Thursday 16 September at St Martin’s and continues on the first and third Thursday of every month. All are welcome.
This is followed by the first coffee morning for 18 months from 10am on Saturday 18 September and a ‘Welcome Back and Harvest Concert’ given by the St Martin’s Community Gospel Choir and soloists at 2.30pm on Saturday 2 October. Open to everyone, no tickets required.
In addition after 18 months of virtual practising via Zoom and putting their musical concerts on the internet the choir are now back rehearsing in person and welcome new singers.
Rehearsals are at 7.15pm on Tuesday evenings in West Moors. The choir is led by the talented professional musicians, Francesco Iannuzzo and Daniela Ievolo. Their first concert is on 2 October and they are also putting together an exciting Christmas programme.
