Appeal for volunteers
Age Concern urgently requires volunteer drivers
Age Concern Ferndown/Verwood is in a real dilemma and urgently requires volunteer drivers for their weekly lunch clubs, a mini bus home pick up service and annual outings. A team of volunteers has striven tirelessly to provide this vulnerable and lonely group of people with a vital lifeline to the outside world.
Alexander McKibbin, a trustee for Age Concern says, “In particular, Age Concern Ferndown is desperately seeking minibus drivers to collect clients from their homes and transport them to The Barrington Centre in the morning between 8.30am and 10am and the reverse in the afternoon between 2.30pm and 4pm. We need confident drivers with a full driving licence, who can spare us a few hours on Thursdays and who are between the ages of 25 and 75 and are community minded. Appropriate training will also be provided.” To apply or for further information please contact a.lippitt@ntlworld.com or liz_adey@yahoo.com
