Care South representatives, staff and residents gathered with members of the local community alongside Lord and Lady Fellowes to celebrate the official unveiling of Alexandra House in the heart of the local community in Parkstone, near Poole. The home provides a warm and welcoming environment for individuals with residential and dementia care needs.
Lord Julian Fellowes DL, best known for his world acclaimed Downton Abbey TV series, unveiled a plaque in the home’s reception area. He said, “I am delighted to be invited to this wonderful place and meet some of those already enjoying the security and comfort of this charming home. We are all hopeful that in our latter years, when we are no longer able to look after ourselves, that such an environment will be available to us. It has been a great pleasure to be asked to take part in the official opening and I am certain that Care South staff will ensure that many people will spend a great number of very happy days here.”
Susan Willoughby, chief executive of Care South, added, “It has been a pleasure to invite Lord and Lady Fellowes to join us today for this special occasion marking the opening of our latest newly rebuilt home. Alexandra House brings together expert design and home comfort, ensuring that all our residents receive the very best care in a peaceful home-from-home setting. Today’s opening has been a significant milestone for us and underpins our commitment to providing care and support in the heart of the community.”
Alexandra House has been created to provide comfort and convenience for residents, relatives and staff. It includes 58 well-appointed bedrooms with ensuite facilities and there are a number of bright and spacious lounges, themed sitting areas and secure outside spaces, offering a welcoming atmosphere for residents and their families.
