Detectives investigating an alleged serious assault in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward – with nine men and one woman being arrested.
The incident happened just before midnight on Sunday 28 February in Parkstone Heights.
It was reported that a man had sustained serious stab injuries. The local man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment to stab wounds to his neck and stomach. His condition was not life-threatening.
Detective Inspector Andy Roberts, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We have now made a number of arrests in relation to this incident.
“However, I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the Parkstone Heights area at around midnight to please contact police.
“We are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.
“I would like to reassure the public that this was an isolated incident. I would like to thank the public for their assistance, co-operation, support and patience in the early stages of the investigation.
“High-visibility patrols will continue in the area to offer reassurance.”
A 26-year-old man from no fixed abode has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, possessing a firearm without certificate, grievous bodily harm, false imprisonment and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
A 23-year-old man from Poole, 26-year-old man from Poole, 28-year-old man from Liverpool and 31-year-old man from Colchester have all been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm without certificate.
A 33-year-old man from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified, possession of cannabis and possession of firearm without certificate.
A 33-year-old man from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to destroy or damage property and conspiracy to commit burglary.
A 33-year-old man from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit burglary and affray.
A 37-year-old man from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit burglary.
A 27-year-old woman from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All those arrested are currently assisting officers with their enquiries.
