Officers in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after an alleged serious assault in town.
It is alleged that a 25-year-old man from Poole was struck by another man in the face with a glass, in an unprovoked attack. He sustained a serious facial injury which required hospital treatment.
Detective Constable Dave Lyons, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Both men, who are not known to each other, were sharing a table with three other people who witnessed the incident.
“I urge those three people to come forward and speak to the police as soon as possible.
“I would also like to speak to any other witnesses or anyone who can provide information that will assist with the investigation.”
A 43-year-old man from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and is in police custody helping with enquiries.
