Two teams of girls from Allenbourn Middle School in Wimborne recently toured to Shropshire to take part in a competitive netball tour. This is the first time the school has taken part, and the results were very promising. The 18 girls, all from Year 8, were competing against 37 other school teams from all over the country. The event, organised by JCA tours, was held over a week-end in the beautiful grounds of Condover Hall in Shrewsbury. The Allenbourn ‘A’ team came third in the cup final, while their ‘B’ team came second in the plate final. Antonia Dufek, PE teacher at Allenbourn, and the leader of the trip, said that it was a wonderful experience. ‘All our girls really enjoyed themselves, and did the school proud.’
