Police in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a large number of allotments have been criminally damaged in Winton.
Since 12 March 2013 around 50 incidents have been reported at allotments along Cornelia Road.
The damage consists of greenhouses having been smashed, sheds pushed over and plants damaged.
Police Sergeant Lee Tharme, of North Bournemouth police, said: “We have received a few isolated reports over the past two months but within the past two weeks a much larger number of incidents have been reported within a short time.
“This mindless damage has caused distress to the allotment holders.
“I am appealing to anyone who has witnessed these incidents or has any information about those responsible to contact Dorset Police.
“We are liaising with the allotment committee to discuss concerns and preventative measures.
“Officers are also undertaking increased patrols in the area.”
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 26:79. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
