Annual summer fete is on its way to Museum of East Dorset
Get ready for a day of fun, fundraising and community spirit at the award-winning Museum of East Dorset in Wimborne Minster.

The Museum of East Dorset will host its annual summer fete on Saturday 5 July from 10am until 3pm in the stunning surroundings of the museum’s garden. It will offer something for everyone while raising vital funds to support the museum.
Visitors can browse plant stalls, try their luck with tombolas and raffles, enjoy traditional garden games and explore a treasure trove of second-hand books. There will be glitter tattoos, kids’ crafts and ‘Hook a Duck’.
Live music will ensure a lively soundtrack, and tea and cake will be served all day in the museum garden café. If you fancy something stronger, the Pimms tent is the place to head to!
The Museum of East Dorset plays a crucial role in preserving and celebrating local history, and this fete is an opportunity for the community to come together in support of its continued work. Every purchase and donation made during the event will contribute to maintaining the museum’s exhibitions, educational programmes and conservation efforts.
Aidan Hill, events officer for Museum of East Dorset, said: “Whether you’re a lover of history, a keen gardener, or just looking for a wonderful day out with family and friends, our annual summer fete in the Museum of East Dorset’s beautiful garden is always an unmissable occasion.”
The fete is free entry via the museum gardens gate which is located near Wimborne Library. Should you also wish to visit the museum, normal admission prices apply.
