Another five-year term for Wimborne BID
More than 70 per cent of businesses voted in favour of renewing Wimborne Business Improvement District until 2030.
Local businesses have voted in favour of renewing the Wimborne Business Improvement District (BID) for another five-year term.
The ballot saw 74 per cent of levy payers voting in favour by number and 77 per cent in favour by Rateable Value.
As part of the renewal process, Wimborne BID invited input from businesses across the town to help shape its next five-year business plan. This open consultation offered a vital opportunity for traders to voice their priorities, share ideas and influence how the BID can best support the town’s evolving needs.
Fiona Pawsey, chairperson of Wimborne BID said: “From boosting footfall to positioning Wimborne as a premier visitor destination, our refreshed business plan will be shaped by the insight and ambition of those who know the town best—our business community.
“Over the past 14 years, Wimborne BID has delivered real impact and this renewed vote of confidence reflects the dedication and collaboration of our local businesses and wider community. Our motto is ‘Making it Happen’—and that’s exactly what we’ll continue to do, delivering the support, events, and improvements that matter most to the town.”
Terry Wheeler chairman of Walford Mill Crafts was just one of the many businesses who voted in favour.
He said: “It can be difficult, if not impossible, for individual businesses to influence how a town presents itself to the public,
“A Business Improvement District provides a vehicle for local businesses to have a say, both in terms of marketing and in relationships with local authorities. Wimborne BID has worked tirelessly to effectively manage both, for the benefit of the town’s businesses. Walford Mill Crafts is happy to support the BID for another term.”
