Frustration mounts at Cuthbury as Wimborne Town FC is yet to kick a ball in anger in 2014.
The latest postponement was last Saturday’s Calor League clash at Stratford Town. It was to have been the Magpies first ever trip to the DCS Stadium but an early morning inspection found 20% of the pitch waterlogged – enough to have the game called off.
An added annoyance is that Wimborne frontman James Stokoe’s suspension is to continue and will now take in the home game against Swindon Supermarine this coming Saturday.
Stokoe picked up a three game suspension following his sending off in the Dorset Senior Cup clash at Poole Town at the beginning of December. He has already missed two games because of the ban and but for the flurry of postponements would have been available for action.
But Stokoe should be available for selection when the Magpies travel to Tiverton for a re-arranged game on the evening of Tuesday 21 January.
