Officers are appealing to the public to help identify the owner of a dog that attacked a man in Poole.
The incident happened at around 11.15am on Saturday 19 December 2015 on Verity Crescent, near to the junction of Kellaway Road.
The victim, a 26-year-old local man, was walking past a man who had two dogs described as large black and white Siberian huskies. The owner of the dogs was picking up dog mess when one of the huskies bit the victim on the arm. The dog owner briefly apologised and walked away.
The victim did not realise the extent of his injuries until the dog owner had gone and he required hospital treatment.
The owner is described as a white man aged in his late 40s and around five feet eight inches tall. He had short greying hair and was wearing a black beanie hat and padded jacket at the time of the incident.
Police Constable David Bowler, of Poole police, said: “The bite caused a significant cut and bleeding to the victim’s arm and I am appealing to anyone who may know the identity of the owner to please call me on 101.
“I would also appeal directly to the owner of the dogs to contact me.”
