Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following a serious injury road traffic collision on the A31 near Wimborne.
It happened at around 10.45pm on Friday 8 May on the A31 between the Canford Bottom roundabout and the Merley Bird Gardens roundabout.
Two vehicles were involved, a black Hyundai being driven by a 49-year-old man from Poole and a blue Ford Fiesta being driven by a 19-year-old man from Ferndown.
The driver of the Fiesta suffered life changing injuries and was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Hyundai suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed overnight to allow officers to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
Police Sergeant Joe Pardey, of Dorset Police’s Traffic Unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the manner of driving of either vehicle prior to the incident to please call me urgently on 101.
“All calls will be treated in strict confidence.
“The road was closed for some time to allow officers to carry out their investigations and I would like to thank motorists for their patience.”
