Police in Bournemouth are appealing for help after a woman was sexually assaulted at approximately 3.20am on Friday 25 October on Brassey Road in Moordown.
The 20-year-old local woman got into the front passenger seat of a taxi on Holdenhurst Road and a man who she did not know, got into the rear of the vehicle. When she alighted at her destination, he followed her and inappropriately touched her while she was in the front garden. The attack was disturbed by the occupiers who heard her call for help and the offender ran off.
Detective Constable Ian Allen, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This was a very distressing incident for the victim and it is fortunate that she was not injured.
“I am appealing for witnesses to come forward. In particular I would like to speak with two people with an umbrella who were seen in the area of Brassey Road when the taxi stopped. I stress they are not connected with the incident but they may have information that can assist with the investigation.”
The offender is described as a dark skinned man, aged between 25 and 30, with short dark hair.
No arrests have been made.
