Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a girl was sexually assaulted in the Kinson area of the town.
The incident occurred at around 8pm on Monday 22 June 2015 in Cuckoo Woods. An 11-year-old girl was walking home alone when she was approached by a man who inappropriately touched her. The man ran off when the victim’s phone rang.
The man is described as approximately 20 to 30 years old, about 5ft 8in tall and of skinny build. He has dark olive skin, short black gelled hair over to one side and goatee style stubble. He wore a navy blue Nike T-shirt with the slogan ‘Just Do It’ on the chest, black tracksuit bottoms and white Adidas trainers.
Detective Inspector Neil Phillips, of Dorset’s Child Abuse Investigation Team, said: “This appears to have been an isolated incident. It was obviously very distressing for the young victim and we are seeking the public’s help to apprehend the offender. If anyone was in the area around this time and has any information, please call us.”
Did you see anyone acting strangely, do you know someone who fits this description and could have been in the area at the relevant time, if so please call Dorset Police or Crimestoppers. Local officers are conducting additional patrols in the area to reassure members of the public.
