Officers in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a collision on Verwood Road.
The incident happened at approximately 7.30pm on Monday 2 March 2015.
Police attended the area of Ashley Cottages following the concern for welfare regarding a male driver of a green 51 plate Ford Mondeo estate, which had been found unattended at that location with collision damage.
A short time later police officers located a man who then ran into the carriageway where he was involved in a collision with a BMW 5 series driven by a 32-year-old man from the Verwood area. The injured man, a 48-year-old from Somerset, was taken to Poole General Hospital where he was later found to have suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed for several hours in order for officers of the traffic department to conduct a forensic examination of the scene and recover the involved vehicles.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, or who may have witnessed the earlier driving of the green Ford Mondeo Estate in the Bournemouth and Ashley Heath area, to contact Police Sergeant Evan Griffiths of the traffic department, quoting the incident number.
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 2:367. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
