Moors Valley Country Park and Forest, near Ringwood will launch a new children’s challenge on 28 May.
Created to encourage children of all ages to have fun outdoors, the Moors Valley Challenge brings 40 activities together in a special Challenge booklet. Each completed activity is rewarded with a stamp and everyone who completes the book will be awarded a Young Ranger certificate and badge.
All 40 of the exciting challenges have been selected with fun in mind and each activity will encourage children to discover more about the Park’s wildlife, get active outdoors and develop their creative talents. Some, such as bark rubbing can be completed unaided, others, like enjoying a picnic with the Gruffalo can be turned into fun, family adventures. Multiple stamps can be earned by those attending certain Ranger-led events and these are highlighted with a new Challenge logo both online and in the new Moors Valley event guide.
Emma Reeks, education ranger said, “The Moors Valley Challenge is a new way to explore the fantastic range of activities that kids can enjoy at the Park and it’s really easy to get involved. Just pick up a Challenge booklet from the Visitor Centre, grab a bug pot, pull on your wellies and be prepared to get muddy as you start collecting your stamps!”
Budding Young Rangers can sign up for the Moors Valley Challenge for just £1 which includes the Challenge booklet and Young Ranger Badge and Certificate once all the challenges have been completed. Sign up goes live on 28 May.
