Are you worried about the state of Dorset beaches?
Having seen photographs of half a million people crammed like sardines on Dorset beaches beamed throughout the world, and the resulting effect of the litter these people left behind, are you worried about the state of Dorset beaches?
If so, you can complete an online survey to help make beaches better. Litter Free Coast and Sea have launched an online survey to gather data about Dorset beaches and prioritise action to make them better. They will be using the results to help develop profiles for popular beaches, focussing on recreational activities, local facilities, water quality, and litter.
Project officer at Litter Free Coast and Sea, Stuart Beckingham, commented, “We are fortunate to live so close to many outstanding beaches in Dorset that provide space to socialise, exercise, or simply unwind and gaze out to sea. Litter Free Coast and Sea are working to improve the local environment by working in collaboration with local partners; we plan to use results of this survey to develop informed campaigns and action plans together with individuals, community groups, businesses, land-owners, and local authorities.”
The survey can be completed on the Dorset Coast Have Your Say website: www.dorsetcoasthaveyoursay.co.uk
Anyone completing the survey can enter their details for a chance to win Dorset goodies, including a bottle of award-winning local sparkling wine, and a print of their favourite beach from one of Dorset’s talented landscape photographers.
