A man armed with a machete walked into the BP petrol station in Ringwood Road, Bournemouth at 6.30am today (24 July). He threatened a member of staff with the machete demanding cash, which he placed in a plastic bag before leaving.
Nobody was physically injured during the incident.
The offender is described as a white man, of slim build, with black hair. He was wearing a beige hoodie and brown combat trousers.
Detective Constable Katie Savill, of Poole and Bournemouth CID, said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and who may be able to describe the direction of travel of the offender following the robbery.
“Witnesses and anyone with information should contact police, in confidence, on 101.”
