Overall 99.5% of Arnewood students passed their A-levels by achieving A* to E grades. But it was the large number achieving the highest marks, which has given the school huge cause for celebration. In total, 26% scored A* to A grades, while more than half (54%) coming away with A* to B grades.
“These results surpass our 2017 achievements, which was also a very incredibly successful year for the school,” said headteacher Nigel Pressnell. “This success is testament to the hard work of all our staff and students and I am incredibly proud of them all.
“The consistently high standards of our sixth form place us in the national top 25% of providers.”
Arnewood’s notable achievers include Katherine Charles, Lara Hellsten and Samantha Fagan who all achieved three A*s.
Katherine is going on to study General Engineering at Durham, Lara will be going to Cardiff University School of Medicine and Samantha is also going to Cardiff to study Engineering.
The school has a long standing successful partnership with the Trento region in Italy where students come and study AS level qualifications.
This year one of the Arnewood students, Marco Endrizzi, decided to stay an additional year and complete his A levels. He achieved an A*, two As and a B.
Marco is staying in the UK to read Data Science at Nottingham University.
