Over 700 supporters poured into Cuthbury last week to see Wimborne Town take on a talented Arsenal under 21s’ side in a benefit game for former Wimborne Town stars Andy Culliford and Kev James.
Even though nothing was at stake, Wimborne played some of the most fluent football seen in a long time while the Gunners demonstrated all the skills expected from players ready to break into the Premier League and European football big time.
A fairly even game saw Arsenal run out 2-0 winners with second half substitute Chuba Akpom finding the back of the net in the 70th and 89th minutes.
