Local artists are invited to submit their work for inclusion in this spring’s Open Exhibition at Moors Valley Country Park and Forest, near Ringwood.
Themed ‘Lakes, Rivers and Forests’, the exhibition celebrates 25 years of the rural landscape, linking with 25th anniversary celebrations at the park. It runs from 25 May–14 July.
Anyone working in a 2D format can submit their original work for inclusion, and previous exhibitions have included paintings, drawings, mixed media work, mosaics and textiles. The only restriction is that entries must be original, be able to be hung and not exceed 80cm wide by 60 cm high.
Countryside Interpretation Ranger Katie Davies said, “We have chosen ‘Lakes, Rivers and Forests: Celebrating 25 Years of the Rural Landscape’ as the title of this year’s exhibition as it covers the best of what we have to offer here at Moors Valley. Of course the theme is open to interpretation, and we hope to encourage artists to consider what the countryside means to them, how they interact with it and what makes our area so special.”
Interested artists can enter up to three pieces of work for a non-refundable administration fee of £3 per item. Each piece must be accompanied by a completed entry form and delivered to the Park on 20 or 21 May.
