Artisans’ Bazaar reopens after lockdown
A Christmas market featuring the work of more than 80 artists and makers, has reopened to the public after the latest lockdown.
Shoppers have been welcomed back to the event, which is at Sculpture by the Lakes, Dorchester, following four weeks where access was virtual only.
While the online version was popular, there is no substitute for the real thing. To meet demand the event will be opening into the evening for late night shopping on four occasions during December.
Sculptor and owner of Sculpture by the Lakes, Simon Gudgeon, said, “Going virtual was not what we had planned for the Artisans’ Bazaar – but it has worked incredibly well under the circumstances. We as organisers, and the artists and makers we’re working with, have been delighted at the response. It has been even more successful than we’d hoped.
“But while the virtual event was a success – we are thrilled to have been able to reopen now. The Artisans’ Bazaar is a feast for the senses – there is so much to take in. It is best seen in person; that’s when these beautiful and unique artworks and artisan creations come to life.”
The Artisans’ Bazaar is open from 10.00 am – 5.00 pm on Tuesdays to Saturdays until December 23. Late night shopping evenings are on Wednesday 9 and 16, and Friday 11 and 18, with live fire cooking taking place during these special events.
Face masks must be worn by all visitors to the Artisans’ Bazaar and numbers at any one time will be limited to support social distancing.
Visitors to the Artisans’ Bazaar who spend more than £100 will get one free entry into Sculpture by the Lakes on the day.
