YOUNGSTERS explored groundbreaking astronomers and scientists to wow their audiences at the Ringwood Waldorf School.
Class 7 at the Steiner school performed ‘The Order of the Heavens’ to packed houses.
The play, based on the biographies of Johannes Kepler, Tycho Brahe and Isaac Newton, was performed with two separate casts over two nights, directed by teacher Marika Bjerstrom. All 25 pupils in Class 7 played a part.
The play depicts the personal lives of those eminent scientists and their great discoveries and was a great way for pupils to explore a key part of their curriculum this year – the Age of Discovery and Exploration.
School administrator Nigel Revill said: “The play is a wonderful way of bringing what could be quite dry material to life for our pupils.
“We like to engage children’s hearts and minds to spark their creativity and interest in a subject. I think it is wonderful that they now know so much more about people who have helped to shape the world we live in today.”
