The occupants of a house in Poole were attacked with metal bars on Saturday (22 November) while asleep. The woman in her 50s and a man in his 20s suffered injuries as a result and required hospital treatment for head wounds.
Detectives investigating the aggravated burglary said it took place at around 3am at an address in Egmont Road after three masked men let themselves into the insecure property.
Detective Constable James Taylor, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “Following the attack the three offenders walked casually up Egmont Road toward South Haven Close.
“One of the attackers had a local accent while another was wearing a dark coloured crash helmet with blue and red markings around the front.
“I am appealing to anyone with information as to who might have carried out this attack to speak with us in confidence.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen the three offenders in the area at the time.”
