Police investigating an attempted robbery in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
At around 6.35am on Thursday 14 January, a teenage boy was walking out of the subway footpath which joins Dolbery Road North with St Brelades Avenue in the Alderney area when he was approached by a man and punched in the face. An attempt was made to grab the victim’s bag but the offender fled empty handed toward the common on Bourne Bottom. The victim – a local 17-year-old – sustained a split lip.
The offender is described as white, approximately six feet one inch tall and aged in his mid-20s. He was wearing a black jumper and black trousers.
Police Constable Tom Harness, of Poole police, said: “The subway is a well-used thoroughfare and I know a number of people would have been in the area at that time.
“I am appealing to anyone who saw the incident or a man matching the description of the offender to please call me on 101.”
