Author drops into Bournemouth Day Nursery to give a reading
Author Christine Roberts read The Very Shy Picture Book to children at Bournemouth Day Nursery on World Book Day.
Tiny tots from Bournemouth received a special World Book Day treat when the popular children’s author gave them their very own personal reading.
Christine Roberts, who wrote The Very Shy Picture Book, treated youngsters at the nursery with a reading of the story.
The writer, who is based in the town, also gave them a sneak preview of her next book, The Sleepy Traffic Light.
Christine, who has a MA in Creative Writing, worked in health psychology before becoming an author in 2013.
The Very Shy Picture Book is a rhyming story about how a book overcomes shyness thanks to the help of some animals.
Christine said, “I like to write in rhyming verse, which I believe children particularly enjoy, and which helps them along the road in their early reading.”
Bournemouth Day Nursery looks after up to 135 children at its sites in Talbot Woods and Lansdowne.
