A team from B & Q at Castlepoint Shopping Park have given a free makeover for a lounge at the specialist Cambian Wing College in Southbourne. The small team, led by Mike Nicolson, décor manager at the store, were approached by the college, which offers residential placements for young people with Asperger’s Syndrome or high-functioning autism, to help decorate the lounge used by students.
The colours cottage grey and wispy sky were chosen by staff and students from the Valspar paint range and two members of the paint team also gave their time to achieve the makeover.
Louise Renshaw, registered manager at the college, said that they were delighted to have the support from the B & Q team: “They have saved us so much time and money and the additional donation of matching cushions. We are very grateful. The new look lounge will be enjoyed by the many students who attend our specialist services in education.”
Mike Nicolson said that the team hopes to offer the service frequently during the year.
