Mayor of Wimborne Minster raises over £8,300 for local charities
Cllr Jeff Hart has raised substantial funds for two charities: Planet Wimborne and the Friends of Victoria Hospital.

The Mayor of Wimborne Minster, Cllr Jeff Hart, raised £8,355.19 during his mayoral year 2024/25. The funds will be donated equally to his two nominated charities: Planet Wimborne and the Friends of Victoria Hospital, with each organisation receiving £4,177.59.
Cllr Hart said: “It has been an honour to serve as mayor and to witness the kindness, enthusiasm, and civic spirit of the people of Wimborne Minster. I am incredibly proud that we have been able to raise this significant amount, which will go directly to two causes that contribute so much to the wellbeing and future of our town.”
Representatives from both charities thanked the mayor and the community for their support, highlighting the positive impact the donations will have on their ongoing initiatives.
The funds were raised through a wide range of community events organised and supported by the mayor, including civic receptions, fundraising evenings, guided walks around the town and collaborations with local groups and businesses.
Cllr Hart has just embarked on a second term as mayor of Wimborne Minster. His chosen charities for the year ahead are Millstream Theatre Group, a local arts organisation supporting adults with learning disabilities, and Dorset Community Action’s youth services.
