Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a bank robbery in the Bournemouth.
At 10.33am yesterday, Tuesday 5 May, police were called to reports of a robbery at Barclays Bank in Wimborne Road.
A man entered the branch, threatened staff and demanded money. No weapon was seen.
He stole a quantity of cash and is believed to have left on foot along Bryanstone Road.
It is thought the suspect may have then entered a P-reg vehicle, possibly a silver, white or grey Renault Megane or Citroen Picasso.
Officers carried out a search of the area, assisted by the police helicopter, but were unable to locate the man or vehicle.
No one was injured in the incident.
The suspect is described as white, between five foot eight and five foot ten inches tall, in his early 20s and was wearing a black jumper, blue jeans, gloves, black trainers, and a red, white and black patterned motorcycle helmet.
Detective Sergeant Karen Penn, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This was a frightening ordeal for members of the public and staff who were in the branch at the time.
“I am now in a position to release a CCTV image of the suspect, who was wearing a distinctive motorcycle helmet. I am appealing to anyone who may have seen a man wearing a similar helmet or clothing either before or after the incident, or may have information as to the whereabouts of the vehicle in question, to please call me on 101.
“All calls will be treated in strict confidence.”
