Blandford brewer donates £253,000 to good causes
Hall & Woodhouse continues to donate a percentage of bar profits from local events to charities and local causes.
Hall & Woodhouse (H&W) broke its records this year with its bars operating at 21 festivals and shows across the south. At most events the brewer donates a percentage of bar profits to charities and local causes as part of its wider goal of donating £1million per year.
H&W has increased its events-driven donations by 15 per cent compared to 2024. This increase is due to the company operating bars at Bournemouth Pride and The Tank Museum’s Tiger Days for the first time. Donations from H&W Events totalled £220,000 last year, while this year saw donations of £253,000.
Anthony Woodhouse, chairman said “Our purpose has always been to enrich the communities we serve. Running the bars at brilliant events such as TANKFEST and Dorset County Show isn’t only great fun, but also enables us to reach new communities and make significant donations to incredibly deserving organisations.”
Highlights of H&W’s 2025 events season included its continued headline sponsorship of Teddy Rocks Festival. All bars were operated by H&W team members who volunteered their time. A bespoke replica pub was installed on-site, offering guests a full H&W experience in the field. H&W contributed to Teddy Rocks’ mission to ‘fight children’s cancer with rock’ by donating nearly £130,000 through its profit donation and ongoing sponsorship.
This summer also saw record-breaking results at TANKFEST. £27,500 was raised through H&W’s operation of two bars during the festival weekend.
To wrap up the 2025 event season, H&W returned to Dorset County Show and ran three bars during the weekend. One of the bars ran on an entirely not-for-profit basis, and 50 per cent of profits from the other two bars were donated to the show’s own charity that funds farm visits for local schools, Julia’s House, and The Farming Community Network.
The brewer is on track to meet its goal of raising £1 million per year by the company’s 250th anniversary in 2027.
