Boost for Wimborne community centre
The Allendale Centre in Wimborne has received a grant of £5,500 from the Digby Charity.
The Allendale Centre in Wimborne has received a grant of £5,500 from the Digby Charity, which was set up in 1960 by Ethel Margaret Digby who lived at Greenhill Close in Colehill.
The funds will be used to help to buy a new Commercial Induction Range Cooker, which is modern, safe, and easy to use. The new cooker will also be much more accessible for team members who have learning disabilities, allowing them to contribute more safely and confidently in the kitchen.
Carole Chedgy, vice chairperson, Allendale Community Centre said: “On behalf of everyone at the Allendale Community Centre, thank you to the Digby Charity for your incredible generosity. Your support helps us continue providing a warm, welcoming space where people can enjoy a good meal, company, and conversation. It also ensures that people with disabilities can take part in the life of the café — working, volunteering, and feeling valued as part of the team.”
