A drugs house closure order has been enforced by police at a flat in The Crescent in Boscombe following drug-related activity and anti-social behaviour at the property.
The closure order was issued by Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court on 6 June under the Anti-social Behaviour Act 2003.
It came after complaints from local residents about drug-related activity and anti-social behaviour at the address.
Following the complaints, Dorset Police executed a drugs warrant at the property on 11 February and have since gathered evidence of illegal drug activity.
Police Constable Dan Frost, of Boscombe Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We have listened to residents’ concerns and taken positive action on their behalf. I now hope all the residents can live peacefully in their homes.
“I would like to thank the residents for their patience, on-going support and their assistance. This success would not have happened without their help. By working together as a team, Dorset Police and the community can make Boscombe a better and safer place for everyone.”
The closure order has been imposed for three months. Details of the closure order have been posted on the front of the flat and anyone found breaching the closure order will be arrested.
Police Constable Dan Frost continued: “We will always seek to take action and use police powers where there is evidence of drug activity and anti-social behaviour.
“I would also encourage local residents to report any concerns to Dorset Police in confidence or Crimestoppers anonymously.”
