Bournemouth celebrates English Tourism Week with chance to win a beach lodge holiday
A host of fun events in Bournemouth during English Tourism Week (25 March – 2 April) will be located in some of the resort’s most picturesque locations and will see the return of the big wheel and a competition to win a stay in one of the brand new beach lodges.
A whole host of events will take place in Bournemouth during English Tourism Week which kicks off on 25 March. The following day, the first ever Sandstorm will transform Bournemouth beach into the ultimate outdoor adventure assault course. With 20 obstacles over a 5K circuit, this one-day-only event is organised by the RNLI and will see participants battle the sandy terrain, facing thrilling obstacles specially designed to push the limits of both physical and mental endurance.
The Bournemouth wheel is returning to take visitors more than 100 feet in the air to enjoy panoramic views of the coast, and the Russell-Cotes Arts Gallery & Museum ‘Meeting Modernism’, a vibrant exhibition, is perfect for those wanting to explore the fascinating history and culture of Bournemouth.
To help wrap up the week, the Bournemouth Bay Run will be an opportunity for whole family to get active, do their bit for charity and of course, have fun. In association with the British Heart Foundation, the Bay Run takes place on Sunday 2 April and is celebrating its 35th anniversary. In honour of this, the theme for the run will be the 1980s, with runners being invited to dress up in outfits from the 80s – leg warmers and tutus galore.
Jon Weaver, Head of Resort at Bournemouth Tourism said: “Bournemouth takes pride in being a destination that offers a wide variety of invigorating and inspiring holiday experiences – from family fun on our sandy beaches to outdoor adventure, cultural delights and of course an array of award-winning festivals.”
There will also be an opportunity to win a four-night stay for up to six people in the stunning new Bournemouth Beach Lodges – a competition specially designed to celebrate English Tourism Week. The competition will be running from 25 March to 3 April and entrants can enter online at www.bournemouth.co.uk/etw.*
