Bournemouth man jailed for criminal acts in Ringwood
Jordan Ashley Burnell was found guilty of assault, shoplifting and two counts of criminal damage on one evening in January.
A Bournemouth man has been jailed for five weeks following several incidents which occurred in Ringwood at the beginning of the year.
Jordan Ashley Burnell, 28, of Cecil Road, was sentenced at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Friday 7 June for assault, shoplifting and two counts of criminal damage on the evening of Monday 8 January.
As well as the time he must now spend behind bars, Burnell was also ordered to pay £50 in compensation.
It follows incidents at three businesses on Butlers Lane, Poulner, commencing at 8.10pm on the evening in question.
Burnell, who pleaded guilty to the offences, entered Tesco and attempted to steal two bottles of wine, but was challenged by a staff member whom he then assaulted by pushing and punching.
Following this, Burnell headbutted and damaged a window at Belinda’s Bakery, before then headbutting and damaging another window while attempting to resist arrest, this time at Wine Box.
Hampshire Police are urging local people to report incidents by calling 101, or by reporting online via the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website.
