Bournemouth radio station receives gold award
Local station Bournemouth One was crowned the best new business at an award ceremony.

Bournemouth-based commercial radio station Bournemouth One has taken home the gold award for ‘Best New Business’ at the Bournemouth Business Awards 2025 on Thursday 30 January.
The station was nominated anonymously with comments such as “everything is local and relevant to the us, and is a great entertainment addition for the area,” and “totally brilliant at what they do.”
Founded by radio executives Sophie Greenwood and Roy Martin in 2024, Bournemouth One broadcasts across Dorset on DAB providing the music, local news and traffic, and enables local businesses to advertise their services to residents.
The event was held on Thursday afternoon at the end of Bournemouth Pier. On accepting the award, Greenwood said: “We’re very proud to be community focused with local and relevant information every 20 minutes.
“There has been a lot of work that’s gone in to the station – I’m very proud at what we’ve achieved, and honoured to receive this Gold award today.”
Other winners from the event included Key West Bar and Grill, NFU Mutual Bournemouth, Rejuvenate IT, Halo Design, Total Dorset and Bournemouth & Poole College.
