Pupils from Broadstone Middle School recently visited Langside School, the charity run school and part of Diverse Abilities.
Langside is a special school for pupils aged 2 to 19, with profound and multiple learning disabilities and complex medical needs. The school provides a full sensory and therapeutic approach to meeting the needs of the pupils and helps them to achieve their full potential, with nursing support in every class.
The Broadstone pupils were taken on a tour of Langside School and then interacted with the children Diverse Abilities supports in their class. The pupils also had the chance to take part in a Zoolab animal-handing workshop.
Looking ahead, Broadstone Middle School will be raising funds for Diverse Abilities. The charity provides a range of assistance, support and education services for young people aged 2 to 19, adults with disabilities, and their families through its Children’s Team, Adult Services, Langside School and an Advice Team.
Diverse Abilities is a lifeline to many families in Dorset and aims to give those supported a fantastic life and encouraging future. By providing round the clock care and support, the charity gives a little bit of sunshine to the people it supports, making sure they have everything they need to have an enjoyable and fulfilling life.
