PRISON SENTENCE: TUTT (43)
A Bournemouth man has been jailed for four years for burgling a home in the town.
Stacey John Tutt, 43 and of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on 21 August.
He pleaded guilty to a dwelling burglary at Bournemouth Magistrates Court on 23 June.
The court heard that on Sunday 21 June, Tutt forced entry into a flat in the Suffolk Road area of the town and stole a large amount of the victim’s possessions including computers, mobile phones, jewellery and clothing.
Enquiries by police lead them to stop Tutt the following day in Boscombe. He was in possession of many of the stolen items, which were returned to the victim.
He was arrested and charged with the offence on the same day.
Detective Constable Lee Rutter, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Tutt is a prolific offender who was being closely managed by police and partner agencies.
“It was this collaboration, along with good investigation work, that meant we were able to make the arrest and charge soon after the offence.
“I am pleased with the given sentence as this kind of crime can be extremely distressing for victims and is taken very seriously in Dorset.
“It will also act as a deterrent to other potential offenders and save other members of the community from becoming victims of crime.”
