Two former servicemen are among those working for Yellow Buses who will be wearing their medals on Remembrance Day.
The Bournemouth-based company has poppies on all its buses as a mark of respect.Staff will be observing a two minutes’ silence on Remembrance Sunday and on Wednesday, November 11.
Drivers who are on the road have been asked to stop their buses at 11am for the silent tribute, where it is safe to do so.
Yellows’ drivers who will be wearing their medals are David Ingram who served in the Royal Navy in the Falklands, and Carl Letch, formerly of the Royal Engineers.
The company has been supporting the Poppy Appeal for years and a vintage photo after the First World War shows many of its staff wearing their medals.
There are also vintage photos of staff laying wreaths and taking part in Remembrance Day parades.
Jenni Wilkinson, Yellows’ head of marketing, said: “We are proud to show our support for these annual acts of remembrance in recognition of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
“We have a number of staff who have served in the armed forces and we’re very proud of the service they’ve given.”
