Here’s something to brighten your Bournemouth bus journey.
Yellow Buses has introduced the History Bus and the AFC Bournemouth Bus. These join the award-winning Gallery Bus that has been on the road for more than a year.
The History Bus is adorned inside with photographs from 1902 until 2016, celebrating 114 years of the company.
And the AFC Bournemouth Bus is decorated with photos from The Cherries’ first season in the Premier League.
The themed buses operate across the Bournemouth-Poole-Christchurch conurbation – and more are planned.
Also driving around on the fleet are poets composing verse as they go. Ultimately the poetry will be displayed inside another themed bus.
Jenni Wilkinson, Yellows’ Head of Marketing & Customer Excellence, said: “Our Gallery Bus was so popular with our passengers that we decided to enter more themed vehicles into our fleet.
“We are one of the largest employers in the conurbation and have been for a very long time, and we wanted to share our history.
“The photographs on the History Bus are incredibly popular and passengers love looking at them.
“Inside the bus it shows the development of the transport system through the years.
“For some the pictures are a nostalgic look at periods they remember and for others they are a fascinating look at a previous era.
“Because we are an iconic local company with a long history we had to do something to celebrate the Cherries’ promotion to the Premier League.
“Yellows take an awful lot of people to games at the Vitality Stadium and we decided to theme a bus with photos of the team and the fans. It is already very popular.
“We have also partnered with the club to help take safety lessons into primary schools with the help of Cherries’ star Dan Gosling.
“All our themed buses run on various routes across the conurbation and more will be introduced.”
