Can you get on your bike to help your Heart Unit? Bournemouth Hospital Charity is offering all cycling enthusiasts the last chance to register for its brand new Pedal Power event taking place on Sunday 28 September.
Pedal Power offers cyclists the choice of three different routes through the New Forest, all starting at the White Buck Inn, Burley. There is a leisurely 10km family cycle ride, a more strenuous 50km route or the gruelling 100km course.
Dr Adrian Rozkovec, Consultant Cardiologist in the Heart Unit, has signed up to do the 50km ride and will be joined by a number of staff from the unit. He said: “We see over 40,000 patients in the Heart Unit every year, many of whom wouldn’t be alive today without the unit. I want to encourage as many people as possible to sign up to Pedal Power and help us raise funds for our cause.
Barry Wilson, Events Officer at Bournemouth Hospital Charity, said: “Pedal Power is getting closer and closer and we want to ensure that all cyclists out there are taking part in this great event.”
“We’ve priced the day to be fair for both individuals and families. What a great way for everyone to spend their Sunday – spending time with the family while getting some fresh air and exercise. Plus you are helping raise money for a great cause.”
