Car destroyed by suspicious fire in Poole
Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw a man carrying a jerry can or who witnessed the incident on Friday 13 February.
Dorset Police are investigating a fire in Perry Gardens which they believe was arson. Having received a report at 5.48pm on Friday 13 February of a vehicle fire, officers attended along with the fire service. The fire was safely extinguished.
The vehicle involved – a white Audi A3 – was damaged beyond repair as a result of the incident, and a second vehicle parked nearby sustained minor damage.
Police Constable Harvey Trehane said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident, and I am appealing to anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to please contact us.
“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed a man carrying a green jerry can in the areas of Green Road, Whatleigh Close or South Road between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Friday 13 February 2026.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have captured relevant footage on home CCTV systems, doorbell cameras or dashcam.”
