Caring team helps clean rubbish from Branksome Beach
Members of the Good Oaks Home Care Bournemouth and Poole team headed to Branksome Beach to take part in the Great British Beach Clean 2021.
Using rubbish pickers donated by Dorset Devils, the Good Oaks Home Care team got their hands dirty on 17 September in order to help their community.
They cleaned waste from the beach finding bottles, cigarette butts, rope and plastic throughout the evening. Good Oaks will be donating to the Dorset Devils as a thank you for lending the cleaning equipment.
Good Oaks Home Care co-founder Ben Ashton said they wanted to help clean the beach as part of their mission to help the community.
He said: “We believe that we need to look after our planet. We wanted to do the beach clean as part of our commitment to our community and our environmental ethos. It was also a lovely opportunity to go down to the beach and spend a lovely evening team building and doing something positive for the local area at the same time.”
This week the Good Oaks carers are sharing their passions for a range of activities from baking to sewing with clients as part of Celebrating Home Care day (22 September). The Bournemouth and Poole team will also be hosting an afternoon tea for the office staff and carers.
