Bournemouth’s Castlepoint Shopping Park is to support the manager of fashion retailer H&M as she trains to fight in a charity boxing tournament on the 19 March. Fae Cameron-Laurie, 31 from Poole, hopes to last the 3 x 2 minute rounds against other amateur boxers in a bid to raise funds for Cancer Research through sponsors on her just giving webpagewww.justgiving.com/Fae-Cameron-laurie
“I will dedicate my bouts to some of our family who have recently died of cancer and leukaemia,” said Fae who is in training at a boxing club in Bournemouth for eight weeks. She added: “My family were shocked at first that I would consider participating but are now behind me and are keen to support me at the tournament.”
Peter Matthews, general manager at Castlepoint, said that he admires Fae’s determination to do well as he acted as a part time coach. “It would be great to celebrate ‘Fighting Fae’ as our very own champ at Castlepoint.”
