CCTV appeal after 13-year-old inappropriately touched on bus in Bournemouth
Police in Bournemouth are releasing CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to after a teenage girl was inappropriately touched on a bus.
A 13-year-old girl from Poole was inappropriately touched after she boarded the M2 bus at Bournemouth Square at 5.54pm on Monday 7 August travelling toward Boscombe. She sat on the back seat.
A man got on the bus at the same time and sat on the same seat a few spaces from the victim.
As the bus continued along its route, the man slowly shuffled across until he sat shoulder to shoulder with her. He then placed his hand onto her thigh for several seconds. A short time later the victim moved seats away from the man.
The man then left the bus at Carbery Avenue in Southbourne. He is described as white, aged in his 40s, around six feet two inches tall and of slim build. He had a bald head and was wearing a light grey suit and tie.
Police Constable Dan Byrne, of Bournemouth police, said: “This was clearly a very disturbing incident for the young girl to endure.
“We have been making a number of enquiries to identify the man and have only recently been able to obtain CCTV images of a man we would like to speak to in connection with the incident. We believe he may have important information that can help with the investigation.
“I would ask that anyone who is able to identify the man or witnessed the incident to please contact Dorset Police or call Crimestoppers anonymously.”
