Officers are appealing for the public to help identify a man who is suspected of stealing alcoholic spirits from the Tesco superstore in Blandford Forum.
The offence took place at around 11.45am on Wednesday 10 February. The suspect was caught on CCTV leaving the store with four bottles of spirit that he hadn’t paid for.
He left the Tesco superstore in Stour Park and walked past the Homebase store towards the town centre. He was pursued by security staff and discarded the alcohol before they lost sight of him.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s. He was wearing a black woollen hat, a dark coloured overcoat, black trousers and shiny black shoes.
Acting Police Sergeant Adam Aggas from Blandford Police Station said: “The CCTV shows a good image of the suspect’s face and what he was wearing. I’m hoping someone recognises him from this photo and will do the right thing by calling us.”
Anyone who recognises the suspect should call Dorset Police on 101 quoting occurrence number 55160024548. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
