World Book Night takes place this year on Thursday 23 April, and book lovers in Poole can join the celebrations with a World Book Night party at Hamworthy Library.
Taking place on Thursday 23 April at 7pm, the event will welcome author Amy Mason, whose debut novel, The Other Ida, won the 2014 Dundee International Book Prize. Set in Bournemouth and Poole, it is a funny, bright, bold and exciting novel, about families, funerals, soul-searching and sisterhood.
Visitors on the night can also become a World Book Night giver themselves, by bringing along a book to swap with another reader. Anyone wishing to become part of the World Book Night community can sign up as a giver in advance at www.worldbooknight.org
Sue Wills, Library Service Manager, Borough of Poole, said: “World Book Night is a fantastic opportunity for people to share their love of reading and encourage others to pick up a good book. The celebration at Hamworthy Library is set to be a great night out, and I’d encourage people to book their place as soon as possible.”

World Book Night is an annual celebration of reading and books that takes place on 23 April. It sees passionate volunteers give out hundreds of thousands of books in their communities to share their love of reading with people who don’t read regularly or own books.
