Celebrating International Women’s Day at Forest Arts Centre
Events and activities will take place during this week at Forest Arts Centre in New Milton to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Hampshire Cultural Trust’s arts centres are celebrating International Women’s Day, (IWD), which is marked on 8 March, with a week-long celebration of events and activities.
A range of comedy, theatre, workshops and more will be taking place at Forest Arts Centre in New Milton. From feminist theatre in Florence: The Lesser Known Life and Legacy of Florence Nightingale (11 March), to comedy with Funny Women (9 March) and the female chamber collective, The Tailleferre Ensemble (10 March) as they perform in a new, regular classical musical event, Concert Pitch, there’s plenty happening to mark IWD. Some IWD workshops will also be occurring throughout the week, including sustainable Cloth Pad Workshops (8 March).
This celebration forms a part of a combined KeyChange pledge across Hampshire Cultural Trust’s three arts centres (Forest Arts, Ashcroft Art Centre and West End Centre) to achieve 50% representation of women and gender minorities in their programmes by International Women’s Day 2023.
