Shiver me timbers! Grab your eye patches and parrots for an evening of pirate fun as Lewis-Manning Hospice embarks on its annual boat trip around Poole Harbour on Thursday 20 August, culminating with the ‘Pirate-Technics’ of the quay fireworks.
With encouragement to come in pirate fancy dress attire, attendees of the popular boat cruise will enjoy an evening full of entertainment, including the charity’s very own “piratology” quiz and a raffle full of treasures to plunder. Passengers will be treated to a tasty fish and chip supper while listening to live music from The Bowlegged Skeeter, a 5 piece band who play hard-driving Bluegrass and American Old-Time music with an emphasis on strong vocal harmonies.
The evening finishes back at Poole Harbour where guests can enjoy a prime view from the ship of the Poole Quay fireworks that take place every Thursday throughout the summer. Boarding the Purbeck Princess is from 7pm at Poole Quay, with departure at 7.30pm prompt. Tickets are priced at £20, and all money raised will be used by the hospice to support local people living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
