Charity invites adults to enjoy playtime in Christchurch
The soft play area at The Treehouse in Merritown Lane will be open to adults on 6 February from 7pm to 10pm.
The benefits of playtime shouldn’t be just for children!
That is the view of disability charity Diverse Abilities, which is opening its large soft play area for adults to enjoy for the very first time.
A soft play event, just for grown-ups, will take place on Friday 6 February. Called ‘Big Kid Energy’, it will run from 7pm until 10pm, giving adults the chance to enjoy the slides, bridges and obstacles at the soft play at The Treehouse, Merritown Lane, Christchurch, BH23 6DT.
Many parents will remember the soft play area from when the site was formerly Adventure Wonderland. Diverse Abilities acquired the site to expand its vital services in early 2024.
Cat Abbott, head of marketing and events at Diverse Abilities, said: “We have had so many people ask us to host an event like this ever since we moved into The Treehouse nearly two years ago. It’s a great chance to get together with some friends and act like a big kid.”
The event, sponsored by local radio station Bournemouth One, is to operate on a bring your own booze (BYOB) basis, with a ‘sensible’ amount advised per person, and ID will need to be shown on arrival if bringing drinks in. Music on the evening will feature hits from the 80s through to the 2000s and there will be tables set up for beer pong and pool.
Cat said: “January can always feel like it drags on for much longer than a month, so it’s a little something fun to look forward to once it ends, catch up with your friends, and support a good cause all at the same time.”
