When is the right age to introduce your children to the joys of sport? Well, sport-mad Ross Humphrey, Nursery Manager at Knoll Gardens near Wimborne, thinks that you can never start too soon.
Former Junior Cherry Ross and his wife Claire, introduced three month old twins Molly and Ivy to AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe and retired Cherries’ legend Steve Fletcher recently.
The twins arrived prematurely on 15 November and Ross was offered the opportunity for them to meet Eddie and Steve pitchside at Dean Court on Valentine’s Day.
As well as being a former Junior Cherry, Ross plays cricket for Sturminster Marshall. The team is also supported by Knoll Gardens.
Ross said, “I love gardening, but I love sport as well, so when the opportunity came up to show off the twins to Eddie and Steve I jumped at the chance.
“Who knows, with England’s women’s football and cricket teams really making a mark these days, perhaps Molly and Ivy will have successful sporting careers ahead of them!”
Steve Fletcher, who holds the club record for the highest number of appearances for the Cherries said, “”Molly and Ivy are adorable, and it was a real pleasure for Eddie and I to meet them. I wish them the best of luck in whichever sporting route they decide to go down!”
poor little things and Claire and Ross complain about thrusting religion upon kids! this is the same thing in my book!
I know Ross at work and he would never word anything like as read above! this has clearly been edited and I have never head him say ever in the 8 years I have known him say “I love Gardening”!
seeing as I am a Gardener and he’s a ‘Nursery Manager’!
